I’ve been getting swamped with emails from readers from all across the midwest begging and pleading with me to give them a recap, so I figured I’d appease the masses. I do want to offer my apologies for not getting this out Week 1. I’ve been busy with work and school as I’m sure we all are, and newsflash: I’m probably not going to get any less busy. This week is different however. Lucky for me, someone at work came in with COVID so I’m off for a week. Knowing that, this weeks recap will probably be one of the more extensive recaps of the season. Want to just throw that out there as a disclaimer so you’re not expecting this every Tuesday. Anyways, enough with the dumb details. Let’s get to football.
Recap
GAME OF THE WEEK –
Griffin (There are you happy Jacob) [118.24] v Zach (I’m Kind of Retarded) [115.06]
— Being down 7 points with only a defense left to play is every owner’s nightmare, and that was the case for Griffin this week. Definitely gave a reason to watch the MNF game though, and my drunk self was rooting for a sack every possession. Unfortunately, the Saint’s couldn’t get it done and left Griffin three points short of the victory. The week came down to good player management, and Zach planned well, starting all of his highest scoring players to edge out the win.
GAME OF THE WEAK –
Jace (Looks Good in Shorts) [115.48] v Swish (Fresh Prince of Helaire) [83.96]
— In a rude welcoming to the league, Jake finds himself 0-2 with the least amount of points scored through 2 weeks. Going against league low scoring, Jace is showing that he is again a fraud this year and gets handed the win even while scoring the 5th least points this week. I swear to Christ if this happens again this year and it goes unnoticed by anyone else, I’m quitting.
BAD BEAT –
Kramer (2-0) [186.20] v Berenson (0-3) [147.38]
— Kramer has gotten out to a blazing hot start, having almost back-to-back league high scoring weeks. Ben got the short end of the stick, and was handed an almost 40 point loss despite scoring the 3rd highest this week. Let’s see if he can’t turn it around, or if Ben is this year’s Christo.
NOTABLE –
– Samway is 2-0
– I blew 40 FAAB for a combined 2.1 points this week
– Alvin Kamara is a bitch for not diving for the pylon last week. You fuck.
Check The Statistics, Fam
Now time for my favorite part. Spreadsheet is the same from last year in the looks, so should be familiar.

Averages are still a bit inflated due to such a small sample size, so keep that in mind. What isn’t inflated though is the overall Wins/Losses. Kramer is impressing with 20 wins and only 2 losses against the field so far. Also, check out Ben as well. 19-3 is nothing to sneeze at either.

And here are the Week 2 Power Rankings. For those of you who are new or for those who have forgotten, these are calculated using a formula I found online which takes into account win percentage and average weekly scoring, among other things. I think this is a better way of viewing the true strength of a team compared to only having the W/L column.
In the “Power Rating” column, it shows the raw output of the formula. I then take the average of all the power ratings, divide individual owner’s PR, and multiply by 1000 to come up with the adjusted column to the right. This allows for easier comparison between years and makes it a bit easier to read as well. I’ve also color coded the rankings as follows:
Green (>1000): Good team
Yellow (900-1000): Average team
Red (<900): Bad team
This system seemed to hold well last year, so I decided to keep it again for this year.
That’s all I’ve got for you guys. Best of luck to each of you as the season progresses. I’m just glad to not start 0-2 again….
