Week 13 Recap, End of Season Awards

We’ve made it. After weeks of ups and downs, shit talk, and collectively hating Tanner, the season has come to an end. For some, it was a year of great joy, but for many, myself included, it was a year of famine and humiliation. I’ve compiled together the end of year spreadsheets, and made up a list of my own End of Season awards. I hope you enjoy.

Spreadsheets

I know I haven’t been posting these weekly as of late, but if I had been, you would have been able to see the slow fall of Trey as he moved down from second to now fourth. It also shows that Samway doesn’t look to be too deserving of that 3rd place finish NFL.com gave him. Let’s see if he’s knocked out early and this chart proves to be correct.

End of Season Scores

Also pretty interesting to look at through the season, and I know I should have posted it here, but you would have seen the Total Season Points Leader jump around a lot from Kramer to Tanner before finally landing on Berenson these past few weeks.
You also would have saw the Overall Losses column slowly creep towards Ned as he continued to run out lineups that put up less than 75 points a game…

Updated Total Scores

Being the end of the season, I went ahead and updated the Total Standings spreadsheet. This is a combination of the two seasons and the whole Legend for each of the categories can be found on the actual spreadsheet links if you want to see.
Berenson has got the highest win % at 0.741 and clinched his second winning season in a row. Samway’s 40.90 points scored last year just barely edges out Ned’s 42.76 point stinker this year.
I kinda threw this together quickly, so there’s still some errors that I can see while I’m typing this, but nevertheless, still most is accurate.

End of Season Awards

Being the first year I’ve done this, I really didn’t know what types of awards to give out. I came up with 4 major awards that I think would cover most of the things people are passionate about. If I missed some, feel free to drop your own nominees in the group chat.

MVP : Berenson (The Grand Wizard)
– I originally was scared that there would be no clear favorite for MVP this year, as in the last few weeks there were a lot of teams vying for the top position. But, luckily it all panned out.
I graded this award based on the Spreadsheets I made, specifically the:
Power Ranking, Total Points Scored, Highest Score, and Overall Wins.
If you take a look at the spreadsheet, Berenson is the leader in all of those categories. Though Tanner is very close in a few of them, having won only 90 games overall in comparison to Berenson’s 98 cost him and lead to me giving the award to Benny. Congrats to you Berenson.. I wish I knew how you did it.

Comeback Kid: Ben (YeahIAm)
– Everyone loves a comeback story, but I don’t know how many people like it when it’s about Samway. All in jest, because Ben had a huge turnaround this year, going from dead last with a record of 1-13 to the 3rd playoff seed and a 7-6 record. I guess that tough punishment last year really deterred him from tanking again. But seriously, good to see some parity in the league; good job Samway.

Biggest Loser: Ned (Doinks Daily Pt 2)
– Now I know your first thought is probably “no way!! thats bullshit!!! Jacob is clearly the worst team!!! He’s just saying Ned is because he’s writing it!!” Stop it. I know I am ass. But if I am ass, then Jace is equivalent to the turd that Haffner pushed out at the zoo. The numbers don’t lie, just look at the spreadsheet. League lows in Average Points, Lowest Weekly Points, Tied for last in Win totals, lowest Overall Win totals? And lets not start on the actual weekly scores. Jace had 5 games in which he scored less than 75 points, 2 of which he scored less than 45 points?! Pitiful.

Biggest Fraud: Jace (Looks Good in Shorts)
– I saved the best, and probably the longest for last. This is something that means a lot to me personally, and something that I have been harping on for a while now: Jace Brown is a fraud when it comes to Fantasy Football.
This year, a majority of the flak has landed on me (see below)

And these were well deserved, I’m not gonna lie. BUT, someone else deserved them too. Let’s take a little looksy here…

TOTAL POINTS SCORED:
Jacob: 1407.44
Jace: 1410.02
AVERAGE POINTS SCORED:
Jacob: 108.26
Jace: 108.46
OVERALL W/L:
Jacob: 54/89
Jace: 61/82
TOTAL POINTS AGAINST:
Jacob: 1726.86
Jace: 1522.10
ENDING RECORD:
Jacob: 3/10
Jace: 5/8

Just goes to show how fickle of a game fantasy football is and how much luck can play into it. Congrats on hiding under the radar Jace, you fraudster.

Well boys, that wraps it up for this one. Hell, maybe even for this season. I don’t know if I will be able to do much more than a few spreadsheets and some final words of congratulations for the eventual winner. I hope that this was a fun way to keep people more active and keep the competitiveness alive for a bit longer, even if it wasn’t every week. Thanks for your support and for a great season everyone. Best of luck to all who were lucky enough to make the playoffs.
